Shopping in London, 13 shops to see

London Shopping advice

For people that like shopping and make-up, shopping in London is a real heaven…
If there is one place you should go for shopping, it’s for sure Oxford Circus and Regent Street. There is already so much to do and see around, so for this blogpost we’re going to focus mainly on this area.

I’m more a makeup girl than a fashion girl. But I’ll try my best to not skip too much fashion.

So, let’s pretend that we start our shopping from Marble Arch (around Hyde Park) and we’re going to Piccadilly Circus, just to keep the main idea and not get lost in between all those shops.

  1. Primark
  2. Superdrug
  3. Boots
  4. Selfridge
  5. Forever21
  6. Debenhams
  7. Victoria’s secret
  8. John Lewis
  9. Topshop
  10. Kiko
  11. Lush
  12. Liberty
  13. Harrods

1. Primark

First of all, you can not do some shopping in London and skip Primark.
Indeed, you’ll find everything in here from clothes (for women, men and kids), to house stuff, suitcases (because when you come in London you always need another suitcase), shoes… for cheap prices.

In the clothes section (that is really huge), you’ll find everything from classic, more casual, fashion… everything.
Primark is amazing for basic stuff like socks, tights, tops…
You also have to go in the pajama section. You’ll find the perfect pajamas for everybody, from shorts, to pants, but also top with short or long sleeves, from classics to fun or even elegant… everything.

You also don’t want to miss the shoe section on the first floor. Each year I buy 2 or 3 pairs of flats, that are really cheap and last really well. You’ll find everything like flip-flop, flats, trainers, boots, hills…

There is also other sections with scarfs, sun glasses, fashion pieces, jewelry, makeup (have a look on the travel bottles sets) …

2. Superdrug

Shopping in London : Superdrug shopping, drugstore makeup

You’ll find drugstores products in Superdrug shops.

I discover many brands in this shop that are not known or not even sell in the rest of Europe.
They worth the try and most of the time they are really cheap. Sometimes, you make some amazing discovery.

So if you’re making some shopping in London, get in Superdrug shops, and have a look at the following brands:

  • Barry M
  • Collection (well know for the concealers)
  • MUA (Makeup Academy) (exclusivity in Superdrug)
  • Revolution Cosmetics (exclusivity in Superdrug)
  • Gosh (exclusivity in Superdrug)
  • I <3 makeup (exclusivity in Superdrug)
  • Sleek

Also concerning the brands that are known but not easy to find in the rest of Europe:

  • Real Techniques
  • Tanya Burr Cosmetics (exclusivity in Superdrug)
  • Zoella (it was a Superdrug exclusivity till a few days ago since the Zoella’s brand also sell her Christmas product in Boots)

3. Boots

Shopping in London : boots shop, drugstore makeup

Boots is also mandatory if you’re making some shopping in London. In those shops, have a look on:

  • Soap and glory (exclusivity in Boots)
  • Real Techniques
  • Nyx
  • N°7 (exclusivity in Boots)
  • Seventeen (exclusivity in Boots)
  • Sleek
  • Collection (well know for the concealers)
  • Beautyblender
  • Smashbox

However, you can also find higher brands but that you can also find easily in Europe.

4. Selfridge

Shopping in London, Selfridge shop, high end

Selfridge shopping (the entrance)

In this shop, you’ll find everything like clothes for women, men and kids, bags, shoes, home and tech, jewelry, food, and also… beauty

You can find high brands and luxury brands but also regular brands.

Concerning makeup from high brands you should have a look on the following ones that are not so easy to find in Europe:

  • Illamasqua,
  • Kiehl’s,
  • Charlotte Tilbury,

For the other brands you can find most of them in other countries easily like:

Burberry, Chanel, Givenchy,  Bobbi Brown, Mac, Sisley, Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs, Bare Minerals, Caudalie, Ciatte, DHC, Lancome, Nars, Shu Uemura, Too Faced…

But you have to know that there is also another beauty section (can not remember the name of the section) that is not at the same place but on the same floor (high brands are not sold with regular brands…) with less expensive brands like:

  • NYX,
  • Stilla,
  • Zoeva…

For the one that doesn’t know yet, there is a series called Mr. Selfridge, that explain the story of the shop build by Harry Selfridge in 1909. It’s really interesting.

5. Forever21

Forever21 shopping for clothes and jewelrry

I’m sure that I don’t have to introduce this shop. Yet still a great one for clothes and also for piece of fashion jewelry and accessories.
However, I personally only go to this shop in London for their jewelry that is really nice and cheap.

6. Debanhams

Shopping in London : Debenhams

Also, as Selfridges mentioned before, you’ll find everything in this shop for women, men, beauty, clothes, home…
You’ll find some nice and luxurious makeup brands, like in Selfridges.

But you’ll also find the followings brands:

  • Benefit
  • Cargo
  • Elizabeth Arden
  • Kate Von D
  • MAC
  • Make Up For Ever
  • The Balm
  • Too Faced and Urban Decay (also sell in Selfridges)

7. Victoria’s secret

This shop is well known for their amazing underwear and also for their body mists or perfumes.

Even if you’re not going to buy anything, you still should go, only to have a look on the shop windows that are really amazing.

8. John Lewis

This shop is also one a big one, like Selfridges and Debenhams. You can find some amazing luxury brands like in the 2 others.
To be honest, when I’m done with Selfridges and Debenhams, I’m not going to this one, unless I’m looking for something that I couldn’t find in the other shops.

9. Topshop

Topshop is well known for clothes. But also for bags and accessories.
Some of the well-known YouTuber mentioned that they have great makeup product. I have to admit, that I never try them, but I trust the people that talked about their product. So next time, I should try them…

10. Kiko

Where I leave, there is no Kiko shop around. As a result, when I’m in London I like to have a look on Kiko’s shop to try on all the products that I’ve seen on their web site and also swatch everything.

Actually, there is several Kiko’s shops in London, so have a look.
The quality is really good for a really good price. Therefore, if you want to try good products with great quality, go ahead

11. Lush

London shopping : Lush shop

Concerning this shop, I don’t think it’s necessary to introduce Lush again. Lush is a British brand that sells hand made cosmetic products.
I love their products, they look really great, they’re colorful and smell really nice.

Furthermore, while you’re shopping in London, you should have a look at the shop that is on Oxford street. This is the biggest one I’ve ever seen. It’s amazing to be inside this shop.

And you have to know that it’s less expensive in the UK (has this is a UK brand)

12. Liberty

Liberty London - Shopping in Soho

This shop sells luxury product like women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, cosmetics and fragrances, jewelry, accessories…
In fact, you should have a look at least on the building that is amazing in a Tudor Revival architecturehalf-timbering style that worth the look.

13. Harrods

London Shopping : Harrods shop

Actually, Harrods is based in another area which is Knightsbridge. It’s the most luxury shop of all shops.
You’ll find everything in it as clothes for women, men, kids, shoes, accessories, home wear, food, wine, beauty…
Indeed, it’s a huge shop and you can easily get lost inside, sometimes it’s even difficult that find the stairs to go to other floors. But it’s so beautiful and the architecture amazing, that you should have a look inside even if you don’t want to buy anything.
