Quick and easy body skincare routine

Day skincare routine hydration and exfoliation

If you’re looking for a quick and easy body skincare routine, you’re in the right place.
This body skincare is for you. It’s pretty simple and doesn’t change so much from summer to winter (only the frequency of the care is changing).
I also like to keep it simple and quick because, honestly, who has unlimited time to spend for all the body and hair cares?

My body skincare routine has 3 steps:

  1. Hydration (many times a week)
  2. Body scrub (once or twice a week)
  3. Legs scrub (weekly or biweekly)

I know that there are 2 scrub points, but, explanations will follow later, don’t be impatient.

1. Hydration

Hydration is the key for a beautiful, healthy and young skin.

It’s a step that I like to do many times a week after taking my shower, as the water is pretty hard where I live and it can leave my skin uncomfortable sometimes.
And for this step, I mostly moisturize my legs and my arms.

My favorite body cream is the Avène Cold Cream.

This cream is amazing and I can’t live without it since I discovered it. It’s a light cream, not grassy, not sticky with a nice and light smell that is really delicate.
And a bit less than a pump is enough for one leg, and also another one for one arm.
The product gets into the skin really quickly as a result, you don’t have to wait for ages before to get dress after hydration.
And the skin feels moisturized all day long.

2. Body scrub

Scrub your body is an important step to take out all the dead skin.

This step can be done once or twice a week (depending on your skin type)

It helps your skin to:

  • look better and healthier
  • have a softer skin
  • help you skincare to penetrate better into your skin, and so have a better action on your skin
  • help against ingrown hair

I regularly scrub my body with an exfoliating glove that I bought in The BodyShop for 3€ (sold by 2 gloves so it’s a good deal).

The BodyShop body exfoliating glove

This glove is a great one, it’s not too hard on the skin and doesn’t scratch the skin. I had bad surprises with other gloves that scratch badly my skin instead of exfoliating it and looks like I’ve been attacked by a crazy cat.
This one is soft but still exfoliate nicely and softly. You can use it damp, or add a bit of soap on it (it lathers wonderfully the soap) and scrub your body with circular motions.

Do not forget that each time that you exfoliate your skin, you have to moisturize it afterward.
Because scrubbing is taking out the hydrolipidic film that protects your skin and hydration will help your skin to have a new one.

3. Legs scrub

Personally, my leg’s skin is pretty thick and need more works with an extra scrub to look better.

The frequency of this step depends on the weather to be honest. In fact, I scrub more my legs during summer time so they look prettier.

This step also helps to decrease the quantity of ingrown hairs. As my skin is pretty thick, sadly, the scrubbing is not enough to take out all of them. But since I started to do it on a regular basis, it’s getting better.

I don’t have any favorite product for this step.
Actually, I just like to use product that contains natural grains (like apricot, coconut…) to scrub and I prefer to avoid the scrub that contains the little blue plastics grains (that pollute a lot)

For the moment I’m using the one that I found in Kruidvat (a Belgian shop), and I really like it. It’s the shower gel scrub with some orange and coconut.

Furthermore, the smell is amazing, it’s sweet and fruity but not too strong. And the grains are really fine so I can use this product with my BodyShop glove mentioned earlier.
In other words, it’s the perfect combo for legs deeper exfoliation.
